CIP RC/PT Girder Help

Moment Capacity

The moment capacity is calculated at each POI, and is based on the equations of the code.If the PT tendon is located above the mid-height of the section it is considered to be on top, and affects the negative moment capacity only, and if located below the CG, affects the positive moment capacity only.

The moment capacity demand is based on the Ultimate load factor combinations requested in Final case. It should be noted that the combined moment requirement includes the secondary post-tensioning effect only, and not the primary PT moment. The secondary moment is calculated based on the reactions produced by the post-tensioning, which can have both vertical and moment reaction values.

If the section does not include any post-tensioning, only stress checks for concrete and steel are applied.
